Congratulatory messages continue to pour in from different parts of the world following the appointment of Rigathi Gachagua as Ruto’s running mate for the 2022 General Elections.
Leader from different parts of the world have reacted differently to the news which caught no one by surprise, although everybody was surprised.
From the East Arican community, President Yoweri Museveni sent a blank message to Ruto, saying that he thought that he had seen it all, but this was totally new. His message was similar to the one from Samia Suluhu and Paul Kagame, with Burundi’s General Évariste Ndayishimiye simply sending a ‘wueh!’ Félix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of the Congo did not say anything, but palace sources claim that he will start building a wall to secure DRC’s resources.
Pope Francis also congratulated Ruto for the worthy running mate and asked the Catholics in Kenya to fast and pray because soon they will not know what hit them. This was echoed by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby who said that Rigathi’s appointment should not scare anybody who is not already scared of the devil.
Putin congratulated Ruto for staying dangerous and going for Rigathi Gachagua as the running mate. He said that a win for the team would mean better relationship between Ruto and Russia since both have their names starting with R; a letter that Russians love. Putin confirmed that he will be inviting the two to Kremlin as soon as they win, where he might serve them a hot cup of tea.
UN Secretary General António Guterres said that the appointment was a sign that Ruto was a focused man, further asking the Nairobi Headquartered UNEP to add a two-factor authentication for all their safes and bank accounts.
Others who sent their condolescence message include former Al Shabab commander Bashir Mohamed Qorgab, the ghost of Mongol Emperor Genghis Khan, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, and a unknown character called Screwtape.
