Eliud Kipchoge to Miss out on Mashujaa Awards

Marathoner Eliud Kipchoge will miss out on the Mashujaa Day awards, as government embarks on the annual rite of awarding prominent Kenyans. The awards scheduled for 20th October will be aored live to allow for Kenyans to celebrate great citizens who have contributed immensely to the wellbeing of the nation.

Kipchoge, who set a record by running a marathon under two hours has received worldwide media attention, with some people calling him the greatest of all time. However, the government failed to honor him as other Mashujaa received their awards in a private event in State House. The government said that this year’s awards were based on the big four, and Kipchoge’s feat is not part of the big four.

Among those to be awarded are politicians wives and former civil servants who have served jail terms due to misappropriation of public funds.
