Embattled former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has confirmed that the Death Certificate that has been circulating on Social Media is actually genuine.
The former governor, who has been a state guest for a number of days in the past week since the government ramped-up the witch-hunting activities against Tangatanga allied politicians, said that while it is obvious to most people that he is alive, the Death Certificate is genuine because at some point in life he died.
“I am not the man I used to be. I was a different person and all that I left behind. I died, and it is no longer I who live, but me.”
The confession left government officials confused because a legal precedent has not been set for such a unique occurrence, and any attempt to jail him might see him die again and come back as a different person. Besides, prosecuting a formerly dead person can have serious ramifications, including the judge being visited by the ghosts of the person at night.
Sonko reminded Kenyans that even Jesus died at one point, yet many people alive today believe that he is alive. Processing the information that Sonko also once died should not be a big deal.
