Kenya Airways has asked passengers without luggage to consider alighting around Ngong,’ following the possibility that protesters might occupy JKIA.
In a memo to travelers from London, New York, Cairo, Dubai, Mumbai, Amsterdam and Johannesburg, KQ said that it would make sense for passengers to ‘abandon plane’ the moment they spot Ngong’ hills and parachute to the Nairobi Nationa Park using the emergency parachutes located under their seats.
“Once you spot Ngong hills, the person seated at the back should immediately open the emergency exit and anyone in a hurry can parachute into the great city of Nairobi. We do not want our customers to be held up at JKIA for hours. It is also cheaper because if you manage to glide to your house or hotel, you will have saved what you would have spent on taxis.”
The airline advised those who land inside the Nairobi National Park to look for Mufasa or Puma and they will be perfectly safe. “The park is part of our heritage. We are the pride of Africa and should you come across a pride of lions, know that we have a codeshare agreement and they will assist you.”
