Kenya Blames International Peer Pressure for its Love for Mega Projects

The government of Kenya has blamed international peer pressure for its increased appetite for mega projects.

Finding itself under pressure for going only after mega projects at the expense of other pressing needs, the government said that it was hard to stick to simple, useless projects when all other governments were doing big projects. This decision has seen the government continue to sink in debts with nothing to show for it.

“It matters how we appear in the Instagram of Nations. We need cool pics that we can flout to our partners and neighbors.” Said the Foreign Affairs Secretary. “We hope to have cool images like the ones we see from developed countries.”

Some of the countries that have pressured Kenya to go into Mega projects include UAE, Singapore and Germany.
