Local businessman and self-made millionaire, John Mwangi, has announced his retirement from the world of entrepreneurship after securing a coveted position at Quickmart Supermarket.
Mwangi, who according to information from Linkedin, started his online marketing agency at the age of 19 and grew it to a multi-million dollar enterprise, said he was ready to hang up his suit and tie and enjoy the perks of working at the supermarket
“I’ve always dreamed of working at Quickmart ever since I was a kid,” Mwangi said. “The smell of the fries, the sound of the cash register, the thrill of showing customers around —it’s everything I ever wanted.”
Mwangi said he was impressed by the benefits and opportunities that Quickmart offered, such as free water, flexible hours over the weekend, and a chance to climb the corporate ladder.
“I’m starting as a shelf attendant, but I hope to become a store manager someday,” he said. “Maybe even a franchise owner, who knows?”
Mwangi’s former employees and clients who only exist on LinkedIn expressed their shock and disbelief at his decision but wished him well in his new career.
“He was a brilliant marketer and a visionary leader,” said one of his former partners. “But I guess he just couldn’t resist the allure of the golden arches.”
Mwangi said he was looking forward to his first day on the job, and hoped to make a good impression on his new boss and co-workers.
“I’m so excited to be part of the Quickmart family,” he said. “I can’t wait to unload a truck and make some happy customers.”
Asked if he was an entrepreneur or just jobless, Mwangi refused to comment and asked to direct our questions to his lawyer.
