Ousted National Assembly Majority Leader and Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has rubbished claims that he is now powerless, saying that he is now more influential than ever!
Speaking shortly after the Jubilee Parliamentary Group (PG) meeting held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Duale said that he was glad to be relieved of the lighter duties of being the Majority ladder, giving him to focus on his other major activities that he is involved in.
“I have not lost anything. In fact I am the one to gain because I have many other bigger matters to focus on, and so this is a welcome relief. I had accepted the position of the Majority leader because I wanted to help Jubilee. It was my form of CSR. Now I have moved on since they have found anyone who can do half my job.”
Pressed further to state what other ‘bigger matters’ he was going to focus on, Aden Duale said that they were beyond our scope of understanding. “I have other duties which Kenyans may not understand. For example, every day between 6 and 7 pm I command the sun to set. It would never set if I never did it. You guys should appreciate that.”
Asked whether Raila Odinga had anything to do with his ouster, Duale firmly said that he does not know who baba is and has never heard of him. “I do not know who this guy you are talking about. Whoever he is, he has nothing to do with the change of position at Jubilee because as I said, I chose to move on to heavier duties.”
The new focus by Duale differs from the one followed by ousted Senate Majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen, who went back to tweeting bible verses after his ouster.
