Famed Kenyan televangelist Pastor James Maina Ng’ang’a of Neno Evangelism Center has come to the rescue of Arsenal Football Club and will be holding a three-day prayer and fasting session for both the club and the fans.
Speaking after the Sunday service at his Nairobi headquarters, Pastor Ng’ang’a said that he had heeded to the cries of both fans and players as the team faced relegation. “I know the plight of losing and while most Arsenal fans wants the team to try something else such as handball, that is an escapist mentality. We are going to help them confront their losses and move from zero to heroes.”
The special prayer session will be held both physically and virtually, with fans expected to observe three days of prayer and fasting and commit to continue attending the church even after Arsenal starts winning. “We are not asking them to pay anything for the prayers, but we want them to continue attending church even after we deliver them from the curse that has seen them build their altar at the bottom of the EPL table.”
The deal will also see Pastor Ng’ang’a featuring prominently on Arsenal’s branding as a sponsor, something that could help him grow his brand outside Kenya.
This is not the first time Pastor Ng’ang’a has reached out to Arsenal for help. Previously, he had attempted to help the ailing club but they had rejected his offer. It is only the threat of relegation that made the Club reconsider.
Should the prayers not work, Ng’ang’a hinted that he would opt for 40 days of prayer and fasting.
